A volume recording aircraft crashes in north Wales and some coastal incidents, following the success of Aircraft Crashes - Flying Accidents in Gwynedd 1910-1990.
The author was born in Thingwall, Cheshire in 1928 and moved to Rhos-on-sea at the age of ten. Educated at Colwyn Bay Grammar School, he joined the school Air Training Corps squadron and his first experience of flying was in a Halifax bomber. He attended the ATC Gliding School at Tal-y-cafn in Conwy Valley.
Aside from aviation,his main interests are astronomy and hill walking, writing these with contributions to 'Country Quest'. He has lived in Snowdonia National Park since 1953 and is a retired engineering manager.
He is a widower after loosing his loving wife Mary in 2013, with two daughters, three grandsons and two grand-daughters.
