Gwales Description
Here both choristers and conductors speak informally of the buzz that excites them to greater achievement. They talk of the people who inspired them, every one with their own brand of expertise - often eccentricity too. Representatives of all forty-four choirs were interviewed, sharing with writer Meurig Owen their dreams and recollections.

Author Biography:
Meurig Owen wrote for twelve years on the arts in North Wales as well country features, at first for Wales on Sunday and subsequently for the Western Mail. He is the author of several books including A Grand Tour of North Wales and Hedges, Sticks and Baskets. Meurig Owen lives in St Asaph with his wife Menna.

Foreword by Dr Alwyn Humphreys MBE.
Described by the Secretary of State for Wales as ‘A legend – not only a credit to the world of music, but to the Welsh nation’, Alwyn Humphreys was Musical Director of the internationally-acclaimed Morriston Orpheus Choir for 25 years. Born in Bodffordd, Anglesey in north Wales, where his father sang tenor in the local male choir and which his uncle conducted, Alwyn was Principal Violist of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales before graduating with honours in music at the University of Hull and Trinity College London. His musical arrangements for male choirs, now numbering over 200, are much in demand from choirs world-wide, with publications in Britain and America.
